This design pays homage to Diné rug designs woven by designer Jared Yazzie's grandmothers. Within Navajo weaving, clues to where a rug has been woven can be found in patterns originating from specific places, or colors of yarn dyed from particular plants.
While these ancestors are no longer with us, their woven patterns and colors remain to tell us the story of where they come from. This tribute to their designs is how we pass on their legacy.
